Default kk5150's 98 EX build

OOhhhh i am excited for this. no pics as of right now.

things to accomplish:
1)weld in new front in. P.O hit something, and tore the whole front end up. and did a very poor job on replacing radiator core support. this is gonna be extensive as i will have to cut EVERYTHING from the front strut towers forward.
2)put on front type r lip
3)hook up and correctly route foglights
4)complete interior swap/ make.
5) purchase and build Y8 head. port and polish it, blox racing cam, dual springs, titanium retainers

other things will come up im sure.

today i got the front door panels painted with Duplicolor's Vinyl and Fabric paint. Turned out amazing!! the black that i used looks like it could have been factory. i did however spend 5 hrs trying to get the fake black leather to wrap around the armrest, only to fail. turns out the stuff that i was trying to use is too thick to make the contours of the armrest.pics tomorrow

Pictures Pictures Pictures Pictures Pictures.

Also, why a BLOX cam? I would spend the extra and get something nicer like a Bisimoto camshaft. You are thinking on the right track with the valve springs (although I have never seen a cam need duals on a single cam) and titanium retainers. I have been running super-techs with no problems.

is a blox cam bad??? i didnt have my heart set on a Blox cam, just throwin that out there. so no go on the dual springs? thats good, less money by a lot. and no titanium retainers either. sweet. should i just go ahead and use OEM retainers and aftermarket springs and valves(did i mention i was gonna put valves in too?)

what valvetrain setup do you currently run?

pics to come real quick

Woah. I never said you shouldn't do valve springs and titanium retainers with an aftermarket cam, I stated that I have never dual valve springs for a D series.

I went with Supertech valve springs and supertech titanium retainers. I had a Crower stage 2 camshaft, replaced it with a Bisimoto 2.3 camshaft, and I am currently running an OEM shaft since the Bisimoto shaft is being put into a new motor I am working on. I have no experience with aftermarket valves.

Blox (IMO) is a knockoff company. I am sure you would be happier with the Bisimoto camshaft. It may be a bit more pricey though. Make sure to set a budget and go from there.

Oh i know that if i run a cam it would behoove me to do the springs and retainers as the stock stuff cant keep up with it. as for the camshaft which would you say you preferred? was there any difference in power between the Crower and the bisi? how happy were you with that spring and retainer setup?

which bisi cam did you use? i see there are three for the N/A setup. does anyone know the difference between the STD size valves and the slightly larger .5mm?

I would recommend a Bisi cam. Crower was fine for me, but the Bisi felt alot better once it was tuned in. No complaints with the spring/retainer set-up.

What ECU did you say you were going to tune with? Door panels look good IMO. If you are uploading from photobucket, you do not need to put the [img] tags as they already put them there for you when you copy the link from there to here. :P
