Car looks pretty good man. Hope you painted those welds after they were finished. They are very prone to rusting.

I shyed away from the turbo build myself, but only after I lost my job mid turbo build. haha I ended up going with a JRSC and loved it. After running the JRSC for awhile I wanted more and ended up swapping in an H22, which has been taking far too long to be completed :/

yes i did and sealed them with silly cone!

and @cvc i really dont see what the problem is with singles!!?? everybody is always so hasty to swap em out, but they pull, and they're really reliable! i've heard from several people too that the Y8's can handle up 8-10psi on the stock bottom end. is that true????

today i spent pretty much all day converting my boring stock interior into all black. re did the headliner, used dupli-colors' vinyl and plastic paint to do all the panels, wrapped the arm rests and center counsel in leather.

soon to come are pics, and red type r carpet kit, and black leather seats.

Well you obviously heard from the wrong person, how much a bottom end can handle depends on the horsepower you are shooting for. Thats because 8 psi on a garret t-25 is not the same as 8 psi on ohhh... I don't know something like this. So to answer your question a stock bottom end can handle about 200 hp.

By the way i love that you are building a D-series, thats what im planning on doing for my 98 sedan. Its just something different and for practical purposes can make the same power as a B-series (just alot more money lol)

awww good to know!! you raised several good points

and thank you a fellow d-series lover!!! my motor right now can burn the tires in first and into second. but normal driving and not being stupid will get me 30mpg around town!!

so i figure, do some port and polish on a different head, get new valves, springs, retainers, bisi cam, and get the ECU flashed?(is that what they call it??)

than i figure thats good enough for me.

You would need to chip and tune the ECU. You would have to go down to OBD1 and then go with a hondata s200. If you are gonna put all that work into the head you should really go for some high compression pistons, thats how D-series make the most power. With that set up, some 11:1 pistons, and a decent tune you should be at like 150whp and be able to have plenty of fun haha.

Actually forgot you wanted to turbo so never mind haha don't go high compression, but turbo with that plan (forget the bottom end don't need to do anything to it for less than 200 hp) would be good for 180-190ish hp.
