Just shave it yourself! It is so easy, I've done a lot of them and like I said use a flap disc on an angle grinder. $5 at like Harbor Freight or Ace or somethin. Use that to get the bulk off but leave a little bit of the letters left so you don't make divots. Then I use a pneumatic disc sander, you could use a palm sander or hand sand it smooth. Take your time and keep it even. If you do happen to go to deep or want to fill in a a corner or grind a spot for a ground and fill it I used a product called QuikSteel. Basicaly clay that hardens to the strength of steel. Push it on the spot, let it harden, sand it smooth.
Shaving a valve cover is ridiculously easy if you know what to use. You can't use a normal grinding disc/stone since it'll clog it. You just have to know what to use and TAKE YOUR TIME. The first one I shaved I got really aggressive with the disk and really ate in to the valve cover and had to fill in a lot...

Its not shaving Im referring to by calling it a smooth top. They are two completely different looking covers. I know how to shave, I work in a sheet metal shop haha. Ill post the two in a picture if I can find one.
