so those hids dont take to long to fully warm up to full output? mine take about 5seconds to fully lite output the first time.
thats the main thing im worried about is getting a set that take 30seconds for full output.

but anyways reaper i would go ahead and use the 4,3s for high beam since those are the brightest output hids. i just want the same temp hids since i want to wire up the HI-LO beam mod for my bright lights.
but for your fogs why not just wire up a relay and wire them into your parking lights? that will be easier than finding the oem switch and harness. of course i guess you could ask the bumper guy if he can get the harness and switch and throw in your box for alittle more

Mine take about 5 seconds to warm up, and it's still not fast enough for me sometimes... I hate when it's pitch black and there's not many cars on the road so you're running your halogen high beams, then you see a car coming towards you, so you flip on your HID low beams, and BAM! Can't see anything for like 5-10 seconds. Sucks hardcore.

But the problem with getting the harness and switch right now is money. I literally spent almost all my money on the bumper, so a harness and switch will have to wait. Running a relay and tapping into the parking lights isn't a bad idea, but I'd like everything I do to be as OEM as possible.

Anyway, projectors are done

thats why you need to do the HI/LOW mod
the hilow mod is where you use a relay off the battery and it is turned on by the power wire from your high beams and sends power to your low beams, so they you have both headlights on for even brighter output! one great thing about having seperate high/low beams it wont work in a civic since they are same bulb, i tried in my old crx and i had a bulb blow up.LOL

Here is what you need:
1. 1 Relay (4 prong, with #85, #86, #87 and #30. Common relay for aux lights)
2. 16 gauge wire (I used 4 different colors to tell the difference (green, brown, white, yellow))
3. Conduct
4. Electrial tape
5. 1 Self tapping screw
6. 4 female wire connecters
7. 1 Ring terminal for battery
8. 1 Ring terminal for ground
9. 2 side by side wire connectors
10. 1 inline fuse

Step 1
Disconnect the battery at negative and positve ends for safety

Step 2
Remove the passenger side headlight by the 2 bolts on top (or you can remove the marker light, I removed both just for convinence)

Step 3
Clip the brown wire to the brown wire of the low beams

Step 4
Clip the green wire to the green wire of the high beams

Step 5
Run the brown wire from the low beams to the relay. Connecting it using a female adapter to #87

Step 6
Run the green wire from the high beams to the relay. Connecting it using a female adapter to #86

Step 7
Run conduct over both green and brown wires

Step 8
Run a ground from the relay prong # 85 to the screw that holds it on the fender wall

Step 9
Mount the relay near the battery on the passenger side fender using the self tapping screw

Step 10
Run a wire from the relay prong #30 to the battery +, with an inline fuse.

Step 11
Reinstall the lights, close the hood and flick on your high beams

sorry the diy doesnt have pictures since its so old. but basically your wiring it up like this with a relay.

the remote turn on wire is powered by your high beams power wire, and the additional accesory wire goes to your low beams power wire.

but if the bumper comes with the fogs you can always quickly wire them up for a temp until you have money to buy the oem parts ya need. and you can use the same style relay wiring just use the turn on for the parking lights power wire then to the fogs.

I might have to wire them up to the parking lights until I get a switch, I'm not sure yet. I think I'll wait until I get the bumper and see if it even comes with the fogs and go from there. I know I could just PM the seller and ask, but the bumper should be here wednesday or thursday (that's a guess until I have the shipping number anyway), so I think I can just wait.

And yeah, we got a little snow here... it didn't stay on the ground long. the only places that have any snow right now are in the shade. And thanks, I think the flat black on the projectors really goes a lot better with the car than the gloss did. I still want to sand them down and start from scratch, re-spray the VHT, clear, and take them down to 2000grit to get them perfect, but they're good enough for now. I'll probably go a little darker once I have working fogs.

his take about 5sec to full output but are still brighter than halogens at their darkest but he does have the 55w ones so idk and with a civic you shouldnt have to wait for them to warm up because they use the same balast correct? o yeah and another plus to the ddm ones is all their balasts are the slim mount ones.

reaper- personally i like them shiny more sorry

No problem... I just thought the gloss black kind of stuck out on a red car with flat black accents. I think the flat black just ties things in a little better. Actually, I plan on switching the flat black to a semi-gloss when I modify the hood, so I might switch back to gloss black headlights.

if you have civic h4 hids in stock housings then to have the high/low hids those are the bixenon which use a magnet inside the housing to stick the bulb out or angle it to give the high beam effect. but i have heard of some using dual ballast. never seen them personaly but heard of some odd ones like that.
but for your headlights since they have seperate high and low beams then youd use 2hid kits. but if you wired them up with the high/low mod then the low beams would stay lite when you turn your high beams on so you would have double the light with the highs and lows on at the same time, so when you switch back to your low beams the bulbs are still fully lite. so no dead/dim time
it realy does help! i still gotta do my trucks headlights this way. i did my old truck and it worked great!

semi would be a best of both worlds, i just like how clean the gloss looked. I know why you did the flat but to somebody who didn't know better it kinda looks like you didn't spend the time that i know you did
