Scott's Ek Build: Shaved and Tucked
Update just for cv!
Does paint for a valve cover need to be high heat? I can't find any high heat gold local. Doesn't seem like a valve cover gets THAT hot to mess up standard paint.
And got the last things on my list for suspension:
-Anti sieze
-Couple cans of monster
-Case of Coca Cola
Have everything ready now!

Hmm, well I know it gets hot, but I don't think it'd be enough to distort the paint. I'll have to hit up Autozone/OReilys/Napa and look for hi temp gold, Advanced failed me as well as the hardware store lol. See if the stores card me too (supposed to be 18 to buy paint and I'm only 17 >.<)
Eh. I doubt it is needed IMO. I have the wrinkle black paint (Not high heat) and its has held up better than any of the high heat stuff from previous painting. It has taken beating after beating without chipping/flaking once. Only scratches from dropping tools on the vc, dropping the vc on the ground, and standing/kneeling on it have made their way on the paint.
What it should say.
My buddy and I went through out a case when installing the clutch/rear main seal/flywheel...granted it was over a period of 7-8 hours though.

^ Don't forget I'm just a mere child (17). Not a fan of beer at all, now UV... I mean I don't drink, I'm not 21! I'm probably going to try some non high temp, if it doesn't work oh well, not a huge loss. I'll just use my high temp metalcast I have from the purple as a primer, a nice little "heat shield". Lay down some gold, and if it is flaky even better, then lay down clear. Also repainting all the brackets in the car green to match (slave cylinder holder, ac condenser holder, rad holder, etc.)
Ah i like the green and gold combo will look very nice the purple was growing on me tho not gonna lie lmao i wanted to paint my rims on friday (either change em to gold or go black again) but found out i wont be able to cause my friend who was gonna help me has to work :/ fricken sucks ...bumbed

Heh thanks, I'm going to school to be a mechanic, cars have always kinda been in my blood. My dad has always had Vettes, he can repair most things, but didn'tknow building motors or anything like that. I crashed my first car (Cavalier RS), and picked up a Civic the next summer. Going in to this car all I knew was I wanted stick, wanted something semi quick, and knew I liked the whole modding stuff. It was really between a Teg and the Civic, but with the accident my insurance would be crazy with the Teg.
All I do on my computer is research stuff. Going in to my car I didn't know much. Knew how to fix basic stuff, knew how engines work, but nothing Honda specific. Getting my car, I didn't really know much about the motor, just knew the Ex was good, and I didn't know the curse I was getting in to. Now I'm addicted to learning all I can about these cars. I'm always reading threads on dif sites about builds and what not. Reading is power, read all you can. ****, in the past 6 monthes I've owned this car, I've learned a ton. I'm the go to person for cars at my school, do a lot of work for people at school. It is amazing what one can learn, and I love having respect from the people who have been in the Honda game for years, I am learning something new every single day about these amazing cars, and I am loving it. Can't wait to work on these as a career. Hope to start a more performance base shop eventually, pretty much have my internship lined up at a Honda dealer for next year.
Holy fk, that was quite an essay. Full 5 paragraphs and thesis?! I'm awesome.
