so sov, you said you spent around 5000 to build it to that power right??

so do you think it would be cheaper to get to 250-300whp by building my y7, buying and building a z6 or y8, or swapping out to a b series and building that? probably a turbo with all the options

The entire engine has about 1200 in it including headwork. It's ready for ~400-500whp no problem. The transmission has been regeared and has an LSD added to it, it has nothing to do with the strength of the trans though.

The turbo setup itself is what costs all the money. Bseries/Dseries not withstanding.

just curious, what do you think the engine will be pushing out without the turbo, would it be just like stock??

so you spent around 3800 on the turbo?? did you buy a turbo kit, if so, from where?? or did you put one together yourself??

lol, without the turbo, it would probably push barely anything considering he's running low comp pistons. well, maybe stock power or more, idk. and he definitely pieced all of his parts together.

i see i see, so now i know that it would be pointless not to have the turbo.

i looked at the diyturbo site, i forgot the exact address, but i remember that it didn't really teach anything. so do you have any advice on where i could find a step by step guide to piecing together my own turbo?

go to the nitrous/sc/turbo section of this forum and there are about 3-4 stickies and one of them tells you the parts you will need and others just have a lot of good info. actually, i learned 90% about my turbo setup from sov, he can tell anybody thats just getting started what they need to know / do.

hes a genius, if you havent noticed from this thread alone

Here, I'll put it this way, I spent about ~4K on everything I need to turbocharge the engine correctly. As far as I'm concerned, the clutch, injectors, fuel pump, and Hondata S300 (or any EMS) is just as important as the turbo itself.

My new Synapse BOV came in last night, it's pretty damn sexy. I'll get some pics of it tomorrow.

Oh and without the turbo, uhh... 115whp because of the cam if I'm lucky? Lol, the car's a dog out of boost.
