trustdestruction's Civic del Sol Si Project
hahaha that wasnt camber wear that was RUBBING WEAR
ps.... im surpised the buddy club doesnt use the large square washer style on the balljoints!
you heard of that being any problem onthem or do those have thicker stronger steal then skunk2 are?
on my old eg civic i just made my own square washers to replace my cheaper wicked brand name control arms.
worked just fine and didnt warp the metal any at least while i had the car.

Small update:
Front right camber kit bolts are hitting the shock tower. Well, one or two of the bolts are... just a small dent in the tower though, not a big deal, just gotta back out of my driveway slower (it hits when I drive over the gutter at above snail pace).
Washed the car today, cleaned the inside.
The other day I replaced the spark plug tube seals (the ones that came on my new valve cover were toast) and the horn (ruined mine while driving through a huge puddle... possibly why my SRS light was flickering for a day or two after that rainstorm).
Had a little bit of a scare today, sort of. Opened the hood to do something and what do I see? Oil residue on the front right (looking at engine from in front of the car) corner of the block, appearing to have originated from the head gasket... which would **** me off a lot. Hoped it was my cam seal instead, so I took the valve cover and upper timing belt cover off today and discovered that the cam seal was fine, but there was a little oil in that part of the cover that sits in that area of the leak, meaning that the oil leak is above the head/block mating surface (insert sigh of relief). I think it was my valve cover gasket, so I added RTV in the proper places (something I neglected to do before) and torqued the valve cover bolts to specs... hopefully that should stop the leak. I cleaned the area of the engine and I will see if the oil returns.
My del Sol OEM spoiler has been sitting in my closet for quite some time and I decided I will take it to get painted next week and install it ASAP.
Other than that, nothing is really going on right now because I am working on paying off $1000 in debt.

Got and installed my new catch can... properly this time. Got a hose running to the block and hose to the valve cover. Capped off the PCV nipple on the intake manifold.
Couldn't mount it where I originally planned but I found a new spot that isn't too bad.

I've got some big news. Some news you guys probably are not going to want to hear.
Before you jump to conclusions, the car is fine. lol
I've decided that I am going to stay N/A. I don't need any more power than what I have. I don't race, autocross, or any of that stuff. I don't have the time to do that. I've been living at home all this time and I am moving out in less than 2 months to Tampa to attend USF and finish my last 2 years of college. I will be living in an apartment. I have limited tools of my own, and nowhere to work on a car. I also have a very limited income and living on my own will drastically reduce my spare money. I have spent so much time working on this car total that I am drained from it. I don't have the desire to work on it anymore, and I am no longer fascinated by working on it. I have learned so much working on this car that there is barely anything about it that I don't know already... which kind of bores me. I just want to drive the car and keep it clean. If I continued the project I basically have less than 2 months to get the transmission work done, buy turbo/manifold/downpipe, and tune. I also need to pay my dad back $850. I also need to start buying random stuff for my apartment. I just need to cut out from my budget what really isn't important, and this project just isn't important to me anymore. I still love Hondas, I guess I am just more interested in not being flat broke all the time like I am now because I spend all my money on it. For the past few months my goal of finishing this has turned from me wanting the results to me just wanting to finish it to say I did it, and to not let you guys down and all the people waiting to see it done. Worrying about trying to finish this before I move has been stressing me out, and I really don't need that stress... and I don't think I can possibly finish the project by then anyway.
I'll stick around on HCF just like I have been, I just don't plan on doing much else to the car besides finishing the transmission work (the car NEEDS a new clutch and ISB) and basic maintenance.
I'm gonna leave the turbo timer on (I love the extra features... like an actual accurate speedo lol), and the A/F gauge maybe.
The charge piping is kind of in bad shape so it's hitting the dumpster unless anyone wants to drop by and pick it up for like $10 or so. I'm not wasting my time shipping it.
So that also means i'll be selling all the turbo stuff... so if you are interested head over to post 1 of this thread and start picking out the stuff you want. I'll list it up for sale later. You can let me know now though if you want anything and ask how much I'm asking for it.
Basically, I have:
-Walbro 255LPH fuel pump (new i think) and brand new fuel pump filter.
-RC 440cc injectors (used only on a couple dyno runs and the guy decided they weren't big enough... comes in the original packaging and everything)
-intercooler (kind of small... something like 28"x7"x2.25"?)
-dynotune digital boost gauge (brand new, packaging is opened but everything is there)
-bunch of couplers & t-bolt clamps (clamps are brand new... mostly 2.25", a couple of 2.5" and a couple of 2")
-Hondata 4-bar MAP sensor (brand new)
-Vortech BOV
-Fast-Turbo vacuum manifold with brass fittings, & some extra 1/8" NPT plugs (brand new)
-Turbonetics Manual Boost Controller (might be fake, IDK... got it on ebay and it just didn't seem legit. Seems to work fine though)
-NGK BKR7E Spark Plugs (1 Step Colder)
and maybe a few other things. I will look and see.
Sorry guys. Just got more important things in life right now. Gotta do some growing up. Maybe one day later in life when I have some money I'll throw a paint job on this thing and maybe something like a full brand new Edelbrock kit or something.
After I move to Tampa I might get a tune though at Phearable for how it is setup right now... got all these small N/A mods and the D15B head swap, want to try to get what I have running as well as possible.
Oh and I will also be getting new tint soon. It's only like $150 (something I can actually afford) and I can barely see through my rear window due to crappy old tint and without it I would be blinded at night from the rear lol.
