I found out that most of my problems were because the internet at my department went from having the bandwidth of dual T3s to 28.8k due to a hardware failure...

Sporadically, I have HCF connection problems (none or slow), primarily at night.

yah idk what was up but its fine right now for me so maybe one of the sporadic HCF connection problems? like ron said
