92-00 civic throttle body
Hello folks,
This is my first post on this forum and as far as I see and read the previous posts, there are many knowledgeable people on this forum that I might find what I need.
If I understand correctly, all Honda civics from 92-2000 used the same throttle body(regardless of bore size) and they are all interchangeable(regardless of bore size).
What size big bore throttle body is most common to use on stock engine and what size for modified engine?
I see the prices are pretty high for BBK, Edelbrock,... what price would make you guys happy for big bore 92-2000 throttle body(nothing from fancy companies, just good big bore from machine shop) fully polished inside and media blasted to perfection.(real world price!)
and after all, what HP/TQ should I expect to gain from such a thing.
Thanks,
Chris

RE: 92-00 civic throttle body
man, i don't know if you're gonna get any aftermarket big bore tb's for cheap. Id say the best place as usual is Ebay. I got my holley 68mm for $212, which is like $420 from a site. Id say a 62mm is good on a stock manifold with good mods, but if you really have a built up motor, and or running a turbo or a supercharger you'd want one thats about 68mm or so. I don't think you have to do it on the 62mm but you may, but any thing over that you would have to portmatch the tb to the manifold for optimum gains. Expect about 5-10 hp and 5-15 ft lb tq at the crank.
