Advice to People with Header Midway Gasket Trouble
I don't mean to be defiant and contradict your effort in helping others. Which is great, I use to do that a lot on here as well. But I minus well have my input since I've been dealing with similar issues.
I don't think the quality of the manufacturer's gasket's are that bad to be honest. I bought some expensive sheet material that I traced and used a dremel to shape to the original. But it only lasted a couple days. It was Mr. Gasket brand I think, but I'll look into the kind you got sounds like better quality.
It wasn't metal the kind I got, it was just a soft fiberous material like the inner part of the megan gasket's. Once the material gets hot it molds better to the shape of the flange which is good, however lacks in durability.

yea, i understand
the gasket material i used was a soft metal material. I know it was metal for sure because when I cut it I cut my finger on the ****. lol
if you're gonna be replacing it though i really recommend trying out the copper RTV sealant.
