ALOT more to changing DX>EX?
wow you still aint done with this swap...
but no it doesnt need the heat shield but it will help you from burning yourself AS BAD if you ever hit the manifold when its hot... as long as the heat shield is in good condition just clean it up and put it on...
if its rusted then use something to sand it down and remove all the rust and paint it with some high temp 1500degree paint, preferably black or silver or gunmetal color.
and all the bolts and nuts should be the same. only difference might be the spring bolts from the header to the cat... but i just solid mounted mine since i hate those spring bolts so much!!!!!

haha, addiction i plan on doing it either this friday/saturday depending if my buddys mechanic is available. If he isn't i have to go to my collision/paint person since they forgot to clean some crap all over my window seal and forgot to remove the other pin stripe on the driver side door. (they removed it on the passenger side since that's where i was hit.)
The spring bolts, I won't need then right?
(btw nice new sig
)

ya i like the sig nike did for me, my grill even looks like it matches.LOL it doesnt right now.
but no id say you dont need the spring bolts, i just used regular hardened bolts and some washers and nuts if needed to bolt them together solid. i did it on my 99 and my 96 and never had any problems that way. i was going to put them back on and after fooling with those dam bolts for about half an hour i said screw em and just solid bolted em! they are a true PITA!!!!! they gotta have some kinda special tool to compress the springs or something to get em started.

well, good news addiction2bass is im doing it tomorrow.!
i was curious though man, i read your DIY and i have 3 questions (and other readers if your following my thread).
1)my buddy of mine is running a testpipe in his 93' and his CEL is on, is his car in LIMP mode?
2)if i replaced my header/cat tomorrow would i NEED the 02 sensor extensions for it NOT to run in LIMP mode?
3)HOW exactly does this LIMP mode work?
(I dont want it to occur when my new ex exhaust mani/cat is in)
:/
