Apexi N1 universal muffler

I wouldn't really bother. It's an expensive muffler, the thing is huge, way too loud, and assuming you just get a muffler and throw it on the stock exhaust tubing, won't gain you any power.
What I'd do is get on ebay and look for a twin-loop muffler, I believe Netami makes good ones. Then, once I got the muffler, I'd get a nice big resonator, and once I had that, I'd take the car, the twin-loop, and the res to a reputable exhaust shop, and have them bend up a custom cat-back exhaust. That way, you free up ~4whp, as well as keep a nice sexy exhaust tone (little to no rasp).

I just checked out a twin loop muffler on ebay and it seems like a good value, would I need to immediately swap out the stock exhaust piping in order to make installing the muffler worth it or can I just run it with the stock piping until I'm ready to make that next step?

the inlet to the twin loops(usually) is 2.5, so going from 1.75 to 2.5 at the last second is wierd IMO, lol. but yeah you can do it, but if your paying to get it welded on, might as well, just save up the extra 100 or so to get full pipeing.

Yeah, I'd recommend just getting the full exhaust done when you do it, but it's not needed. But like jp said, you're not going to see any real gains from just a muffler; the sound is the only thing that will really change.
