my friend didnt have the shroud and his filter melted....... maybe cause it was an ebay filter

don't worry about getting one. people with quality stuff like aem or k&n don't need to worry shrouds - if you get any gains, they'll be tiny

do u mean any extra gains from the shroud or any gains from the intake how it comes

smae happened to me with my Ebay short ram, was sitting right n the radiator hoses i think. I got a shroud (heat shield) and that did it for me. Now just got to get my AEMDryflow and get rid of my partially melted ebay filter

Yeah, myfilter is getting messed up because of the heat and because its sitting on the engine mount because the cheap intake tube I have doesn't have a bracket on it to mount to the shock tower. When I get my tax refund, Im getting an AEM V2 intake for it so that it actually gets cold air and not hot air from the engine compartment...
