Default CAI in rain! bad?

ok, i was planing to get a cold air intake in the next month for my 2000 civic, i was on another forum looking around when i saw a forum about how this guy went through a puddle and his car is screwd now because the rain went in the cold air intake into his motor, alot of people responded to this saying how it happend to them or someone they knew, like atleast 30 people, and only 2 guys sead that they have had no problem with theres and they drive in the rain all the time, they sead that by-pass valves dont work also ...has anyone had a problem? comments?

As always you should be fine as long as you avoid puddles. A little bit of water in the engine wont do anything cuz it will vaporize when it goes in. By pass valve are also over rated.

I actually read somewhere that a little bit of water vapor in your engine will help de-carbonize it and that running it in the rain is good for your motor. Apparently as long as you don't have a CAI snorting up puddles. Anybody else heard this?

the only way u can hurt ur motor wth a CAI is if u actually submerge the filter and it sucks up a puddle........drivin in the rain wont do any damage......just do go drivin thru 3 foot puddles and ull be fine.
