Default CAI/Turbo Innercooler

Hey guys, haven't been on in a long time. Quick question: If i have a CAI, does it become useless once i get a turbo or only if i have an innercooler on the turbo? gracias.

Far as Im concerned, when you get a turbo, the CAI takes a hike. But you still could use the filter. Best thing to do in my opinion, just sell the intake.

The intake is the same with or without the intercooler. The IC goes on the outlet side of the turbine. You could modify the CAI to pull in air from outside of the engine bay if you want to go that route, but like 93civic said, the easiest thing is to just use the filter and maybe sell the CAI.

buy a segment or two of 3 inch 180 degree mandrel bend piping and you could cut it and come up with a way to make ur own CAI for ur turbo

Okay, I'm just curious 'bout this. Assuming you have room and you really wanted to do this (just for kicks) would this kill your intake pressure or something? Would it help, hinder, or not change it at all? Just wondering! Kind of goes along with this thread...Dual Intake Tube

i think you could **** something up with foam filters. they break up and go where no filter should.

I'm talkin' bout hookin the intercooler up to one end of that Y tube and hooking an intake up to the other end. Just for kicks though, not for increased HP or nothin. And doesn't have to be foam.

Don't know how it would work. Just an idea. Like having a check-valve in the intake portion of the Y tube so it sucks in more cool air, then when there's backpressure, the valve closes to keep pressure in the system. Just wondering...Prolly not feasible anyway.
