CAI/Turbo Innercooler

RE: CAI/Turbo Innercooler
The Cold Air intake CAN be used, if youre building your own kit you can use it as charge piping. You will NOT use it as an intake because there really isnt need for it. You could just put an air filter on the end of your turbo, and it would be fine. My setup came with a pipe that connects to the turbo and its like an S shape, it just puts the air filter higher, away from the turbo. That "twin turbo" intake is worthless. A waste of money, and would no way act as a ghetto blow off valve, as blow off valves release pressure within the charge pipes when they see vaccuum pressure. So in a nutshell, u wont need your cold air intake if your getting a kit, but if your piecing together a kit, keep it for charge piping. Ill show you a pic of my setup so you know what i mean by the S shaped pipe coming off my turbo. I did sell my intake after i got my kit, but i kept the filter, and i know i need a new one lol. Oh and its not an "innercooler" its intercooler.

RE: CAI/Turbo Innercooler
Gracias for the help guys, then one question: after I do an engine swap (eventually, when I am able to find a reliable place to get one from, I keep getting info from everywhere, very hard to handle it all), should I go ahead and throw on a CAI until I get the money for a turbo, or just save the money and wait for the turbo?
