one of the staff of the bands at my school owns a civic with a megan racing exhaust...its awesome. at first i thought it was the evo but it was a little more throaty and maybe a little louder...but its awesome sounding and its a good 200 bucks cheaper than the evo

I almost started a new thread for this, but hopefully I'll get some good feedback here.

So, please 'splain to me about this 'Custom Exhaust' thing. Am I correct in thinking that it is NOT the muffler or the tailpipe that makes the car 'breathe' better? It is the pipes from the cat to the muffler, correct? And the muffler is really about sound? Could I buy just the pipes of say an EVO2 and then have a custom ehaust place put on a quieter muffler with a small, non-ricey pipe?

Thanks again.

I think that with a lightly modded engine, its not going to make THAT big of a difference, maybe a horse or two. Its when you get into the fully tuned, built engines where it really starts to make a difference.

theres really no difference inbetween the two i dont think, the muffler may be made differently, but theyre the same concept. they sound a little different, but not too much. and megan racing is cheaper than greddy.

personally i like the megan racing over the magnaflow.

greddy pwns all

but for the price and sound, megan is my choice.
