Cat help~!
So im going to mexico (bout 1hr drive from where i live) to a pretty legit honda junkyard my fam over there knows about and gonna just buy a 96-00 ex cat for estimated 40-80$. I was wondering what are some things i should look at to see if its even the "stock" cat? Also, how exactly do i check to see if its not broken/unusable?
*On the side note, a buddy of mine told me to get it, we can put flanges (i think?) on it to the header/catback bolt it on then pass smog and remove it after and put a straight pipe. (btw, he's an experienced car/truck mechanic as well)
umm, also what are the pros/cons about what my friend said, thanks!

look inside the cat and it should look like a honey comb. no big holes or pieces missing,
i suggest leaving the cat on. taking it off will make your car loud as hell , ricey, and will also attract cops.

well, would you happen to know what tools i need to remove the cat?
hmm, well im eventually going to spend money on either Tokico Shocks/S.Tein Tech Springs or a APEXI WSII catback.
If i got the APEXI WSII catback would it "need" a cat/make it even louder?

The WS2 will sound great with a stock cat and very good without a stock cat (aka test pipe).
