Default For Chimera or Anyone Who Will Explain!

Okay I was looking at chimera's car and saw 2 pictures... one is this:

And the other is the one I am wondering about

So what is that thing?! I have an 04 civic and I want that thing I circled and I want the header as well... does that intake come along with it too? What is that thing for? Any advantages? Is it only for EX and not LX? Thanks guys!

And what are all of those blue wires doing?

Those blue wires are reffered to as a "Grounding kit" they replace stock ground wires in hopes to add power. If I remember correctly, Chim was having electrical problems and needed to replace his ground wires, so he just got the kit. The stuff you circled is not an easy task for a beginner. He did a throttle body and intake manifold conversion on his motor. The D17 throttle body and intake manifold suck, so he added a Skunk2 D16 intake manifold and throttle body to gain some power...Im sure the gains were well noticed, but ask chim himself.......because he will tell you that it was a LOT of work.

It's called an intake manifold, and i do believe that that one comes on the Ex and not the Lx. but it you should be able to swap on onto there.

Oh I would never even think of doing any of that stuff by myself... I was wondering how much something like that costs? What is the difference between that thing and the v2 he had? They both suck in air dont they?

THe difference is that the stock d17 runs a returnless fuel system, making it a ridiculous chore to add any good power adders. By converting to a returned fuel system, it opens the possibility of getting more power out of an otherwise useless motor

Hey My04 why didnt you ever decide to do it? Too much work and not enough power? I saw the manifold on procivic.com for 250 bucks but what about fuel? How much is that and how much would a shop ask to put it on?

Also... what do you think his car is pushing with intake manifold and new header along with the grounding kit?
