Default Civic sir stock exhaust & Header on a 96 CX

Wondering if I can use a 99 sir stock exhaust and header on my 96 CX hatchback? Someone is selling one for cheap and my exhaust is falling apart. Basically everything from my cat back has to be replaced and I have the cat/header combo. Just looking for the cheapest solution.

Thanks

what model is the 99 sir? Coupe/Sedan/Hatch? If its hatch it'll prolly fit, but i know they sell different exhaust for 2/4 doors vs. hatches

I assume you are in canada, and your SiR is the same as our ex. If that is the case, then if you want the exhaust to fit:

1) It has to be specifically for a hatchback. A 2/4 door exhaust will not fit.
2) You will have to switch out the header and cat for those out of an sir (ex in US), or buy aftermarket parts.

when switching and exhaust setup on a CX,DX,or LX to a EX setup, everything must be switched at the same time and cannot be done in pieces. This of course only pertains if you want everything to bolt up correctly. The other alternative is to cut off the flanges and weld the pipes together, but that is way more work.

yes, I'm in Canada but isn't the sir the same as the US si for 99-00? If that's the case would a header and exhaust from a US si (B16A2 I think) fit my CX (D16Y7). I didn't know they made the sir in a hatchback? I don't know a whole lot about this stuff so bear with me.

the B series header won't bolt onto the D, period. And the exhaust probably will be similar but won't line up exactly due to the engine, although it might be similar, especially if its a hatch (btw they DO make SIR hatches, or did)

So it sounds like it won't fit. I guess it will be best to just replace the exhaust with an OEM one then. Any advice on where to look for parts?

http://www.imageinmotion.com/ - These guys are located in BC, Canada

I haven't bought off of them yet, but it'll save you from paying dutys.

Plus check RevScene. They always sell parts for civics on there.

I'm sorry yes the SiR is the same as the US si. I was thinking of the Canadian Si which is the US EX. my mistake.

but you need to have a header and cat off of a D series engine so a si header will not fit.
