Default Custom exhaust help?

i want to get a quiet custom exhaust set up for my 98 EX. i have a short ram intake and a header so i'm thinking i should go with 2.25" piping. also i think i will go with a magnaflow muffler.

do i need a resonater as well? do you have any tips? and about how much should i expect it to cost (including parts and labor)?

that sounds about perfect, and yes get a resonator. It will definitely sound better/quiter, and make sure to get the longest you can (I fit a 22" on mine, prolly coulda gone a few inches longer). Get a Magnaflow resonator/muffler off of ebay, mine was like $64 and i'm really happy with it. I also with 2.25" piping on my N/A Civic and i love it. Top-end gains and maybe a little tiny loss in torque, but it feels about perfect for me.

you dont need a resonator, but it deff will hepl with the sound, and smooth it over. sounds like a good overall setup. make sure if you decide to go on ebay, your buy actual brand name stuff. you dont wanna buy one that is magnaflow "like" style muffler, those are garbage. i stress the fact of buying brand name. going custom even if you pay someone to od it for you, shouldnt be more then $300-$350.

i just got an estimate from a local shop today with a total of $350, not including a resonator. he said it would be $200 for the hardaware and magnaflow muffler and $50 for labor.

i'm going to call around to see if i can get a better deal.

i talked to a guy at a local exhaust shop and he quoted $350 for 2.25" piping and a magnaflow muffler. (that didn't include a resonator)

i've been looking into exhaust more and i'm thinking about just going with the Apex'i WS2 for an extra $100.

$350 is waaaaaay too much. Search "Magnaflow Muffler" on ebay and you'll find it.
