Default Exhaust manifold Issue

Hey whats up everyone I need some help on an issue im having with my car. I currently have a 98 Civic LX thats has a cracked exhaust manifold which makes hurendous amout of noise when the car starts up. I went to a local mechanic and he said that part it self cost 700 because the car is CA Emmissions and has a CAT on the manifold. Are there any other alternatives that can be used instead of a new CA emmsisions maniolfolf thats cost to much money. I was thinking of just getting a set of headers which are alot cheap. What do you guys recomend. I dont want to race the car its just my dailu driver to work. I would apreciate all the help.

Thanx

then go find a muffler guy who will weld up the crack. thats BS to say that. just make sure you keep a cat on it, and you should be fine.

If you dont care about the performance aspect of it then just go get it welded @ midas or something. You COULD just get an aftermarket header, or one from a junkyard, but then you wont be able to use your cat (Ud have to buy a new one) and that will make your car much louder than it is.
