aight i got this race later this year against a damn focus (not svt), who talks too much bull,whats good for exhaust, and headers? already gotan CAI.i got an 89 hatch still wit its stock d15b2 motor, i dont have much dough to spend but i want an exhaust system that gives good flow but with a deep tone. nothing that will wake the neighbors. im figuring around $350 on a decent exhaust system, any ideas and any links? i would apreciate it!

if it makes it any easier, dont worry bout the focus, what can be done to get power out of a d15?

 

If I were you I'd just swap for a d16 if you want some extra power. They aren't that expensive. Then get some bolt-ons after that. Your motor is slow and youaren't going to get much "power" out of it. It's a d15b2 and it's old. Take the money you were going to use to get an exhaust system and a header, and then some, and get a new motor.

 

or for now you can just get a z6 head and a p28 ecu for pretty much the price of the exhaust and that'll add 30hp by doing that. Then you'll have a better chance beating him and also try and get the z6 IM & TB..usually if you by the z6head it will come w/the IM & TB. but yeah your better off saving your money for a d series and be a whole lot quicker that way..and pretty much spending the same amount of money your going to be doing to your d15

 

Yep these guys are right. If you look around you could prolly find a D16Z6 laying around somewhere and pick it up for under 400. Then get some more cash and put on headers, exhaust, intake, etc. Your stock motor doesnt stand a chance.

 

yeah...go with the z6 motor, i think it will give you the most bang for your buck. but if not, maybe you should wait til you get a few more mods before racing the focus.

 

There's a guyaround the online Honda community expecting140-160whp out of his non-vtec D15 soon. It's not that hard to do, just have to use your mind.
