I have a 99 civic ex and wanted to know what to look for when i purchase new headers, but are still affordable. Also if I get headers will need to reinforce any other parts of the engine to prevent unecessary wear?

DC ceramics are the header of choice around here, and the instal isnt too terrible.

 

^^as longa s you can get the O2 sensor out of the stock manifold

 

To hell with the stock O2 sensor, your are gonna get a CEL with the DC headers, its unavoidable, pick up an O2 sim while you are at it, it will save you some headaches in the long run. TRUST ME. I just finished with all the headaches, and I even went through the process of puttin a Hi-Flo cat on, still ended up with a CEL in the end, O2 sim cleared it right up.

Oxygen simulator, it simluates what the ECU wants to read, bc of the improved air flow the ECU will believe the catalytic converter is malfunctioning and throw a CEL, which means no VTEC and running slightly rich till you fix it. Invest the 70 bucks in an O2 sim when you get your headers.
