Hey all, wondering the best way to clean and oil my K+N air filter. Minnesota winters kill it and want to give it a good cleaning. Thanx

 

I dont know how it is for a K&N filter but for an AEM filter u..:

1) take the filter off and loosen all the dirt off with a soft bristle brush
2) spray the cleaner solution on and let sit for like 10-15 mins
3) rinse it off with low pressure water from the inside out
4) put on the oil on each pleat and inbetween each pleat and let sit for about 20 mins
5) and put the filter back on once ready

i figure its probably similar for a K&N

 

yeah its about the same process with K&N. make sure you dont use cold water in step 3. it needs to be lukewarm...a little warm if anything.

the cleaning kit is about 10-12 bucks.

just buy the K&N cleaning kit, you should be able to get it at any auto parts store. (it includes the oil)

its not hard, just don't over oil the filter or it will kill performance and ruin sensors
