Some of you know i recently installed my SRI. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...-x/Car/SRI.jpg And i was wondering how much does an air filter increase the car performance and also sound cuz not only do i want the performance but also the better sound. Anyways you can see at my SRI what filter i have, and i was thinking about getting this filter off of ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/REAL-...QQcmdZViewItem and i would like to know is it worth upgrading the filter.Will i get better performance from this filter over my other one i have on my SRI and also will this filter give me that better sound as well.

 

just because it's cheap don't mean you gotta have it.

the filters are the ONLY thing that matters on short ram intakes.

get a good one, like an AEM dry flow or K&N.

they cost an arm and a leg, but filters are like your lungs.

breathe in good air, feel good. breathe in bad air, feel bad.

good filters are your friend...

 

well i have another question then. What is the best type of filter shape for overral quality for my SRI from K&N http://www.knfilters.com/universal/universal.htm

 

id buy the largest filter you can fit

more surface area= beter breathing in my book....

eventualy ill swap out my cheap @ss filter for a K&N filter...

 

aren't the aem dry flows only ~$50? i'd save and get one of those instead of the ebay one you posted.

 

ya that ebay one is no beter than the one that came with yours.LOL just looks alittle beter in style...

 

i'm confused about how that thing will work. from the picture, it looks like the inside has the filter, but its completely surrounded by a carbon fiber design and the only place air gets in is from the top little speaker line thing...

 

its preaty much just a splash guard...

well dont know about more power or sound.... but im sure it will last ALOT longer than that cheap @ss filter that came with the cheap kit!
