hhmmm... It sounds to me like theres something else going on. A little water splashed onto your filter shouldnt "snuff out" the motor.
I might have not explained it as well as I should have. It was a pretty good splash of water. First time I was going up hill, and the water was flowing down the street and it splashed up and killed the engine. The second time I went through a puddle and the same thing. The puddle wasnt deep enough to submerge it either. I dunno.

I too like the sound of the SRI's better.

it wasnt hydrolock. if it was because of the water getting in the engine you would have broken something and it wouldntve started back up. check your plugs and wires and make sure theres not a break or a fray anywhere. water could cause that to short out and kill the engine.

it probably splashed the distributor, and killed the motor that way, then dried enough to start back up. doubtful it was the CAIs fault.

back to the topic. I'd prefer the hybrid, it'd be a little bit more complicated to install tho. They have a DIY over hondaswap.com I belive.

Short ram vs CAI dont really matter. Your talking a max gain of around 3hp for a CAI. I had a AEM CAI on my 98 sedan with a Y7, then I went to a short ram and yes -40- my short ram was alot louder. I liked it better to tell the truth.

thats so wierd, cause mine is the exact opposit..

...I think Sacs is right on what happened. It used to happen to my Jetta every time it was raining outside. The Distributer (or coil pack in the jetta) gets wet, shorts out, and down goes the motor. It's HIGHLY unlikely that you got just enough water into the motor to shut it down, but not kill it

I have tried CAI and SRI, the CAI has deeper sound(longer pipe) and the SRI is louder(higher tone) just like a sub and a speaker but only just a lil bit difference between them
