Default I/H/E model specific?

maybe someone can explain this to me. i tried looking but figured this would be the fastest way. why is it that some intakes and headers are specifically for EX and some EX M/T only? i have a DX and was wondering does it really matter? i know as far as intakes the throttle bodies are different, but what does transmission have to do with it?

an EX header will only fit on a DX if you also get an EX exhaust. the only difference between the two is cat placement, so if you change the cats placement and line it up with an EX header and exhaust, it all works out. its called an EX exhaust conversion.
