Intake manifold swap
As stated before I have a sock D16y7 5MT. I want to put on a SRI but From what I have read the the y7's stock intake manifold is garbage. So I want to upgrade to a better intake manifold.
My choices are either
A) a a D16y8 intake manifold
or
B) Aftermarket intake manifold (IE Skunk2)
as I said i have done my own research but I need a few things cleared up and hopefully you guys can help?
1) Which one would better suit me? I use my car for daily driving and therefore don't do a lot of high RPM (5500+) driving. Most places say the Skunk2 style ones with the long plenums are better for High RPMs
2) can I use the throttle body off of my y7 or do I need the TB for the Y8?
3) I have heard there is a difference in the number of IACV on the EX ones (maybe on the aftermarket ones too?). My car is a Y7 with a manual so if I get one from an EX do I need the intake manifold off of a Automatic or manual car?

Alright cool, that is one quetsion answer. The other 2 (Throttle body and MT or AT type) I still need help with though.
Unless something has changed, Skunk2 manifolds weren't working right for quite a few members on this board. Edelbrock seemed to work though. The IACV issue is in the number of wires and I believe that some automatic EXs also had a 3 wire IACV just liek the Y7. If someone has a wiring diagram of let's say a 98 auto EX and a 98 MT LX it should be easy to tell whether the IACV is two or three wires.

Gene, from what I see in the 6th generation service manual, you are absolutely right. As a general statement, the IACV from any 6th generation Civic with an AT is compatible with any (6th generation) D16Y7 engine regardless of transmission type. These IACVs are all rotary type with three-wire connectors.
