Default RE: Just ordered an AEM SRI...

So, does it explain how to take out my stock intake in the instructions I'll receive for the AEM SRI?

I'm completely new to this so I am a little concerned.

I've been searching for tutorials and guides on how to install a SRI, but I couldn't find any.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks.

in the instructions, there will be steps on how to remove the stock intake, although it doesn't go much farther than telling you where the bolts are that you need to remove. mostly use common sense. lol.

also disconnect the negative battery terminal while you're installing it to resset your ECU, if you install it correctly when you reconnect the battery and turn your car on you'll be clear of CELs

So, my first attempt to install the intake failed T.T

I got as far as taking the top half of the airbox out and taking the filter out, but I couldn't unscrew one of the three bolts that held that bottom half of the airbox down!

The manual told me to take out my splash guard, fender, and what appeared to be my wheel in order to access the nut and some other bolts...
I tried to think of a way to get to the nut, but there was no way... the only option was to remove the brake fluid thing and I had no confidence in doing that so....

I have to take it to a shop tomorrow.... I really wanted to be able to do this too

Oh well, thanks for the tips guys!

well if its a CAI you have to take the wheel off to route the piping down into your bumper, but an SRI you dont need to mess with any thing like that, its all in the engine bay. And i know the lower half of the box can be a bitch, theres a clamp underneath it thats a 10mm bolt, use a socket with extension and it should come right off, then just use a couple to attach the new pipe to the throttle body, and you'll be good. Then you need to pull the grommet/IAT sensor out of the stock intake and put the whole thing into the hole on the new intake, and also run a hose between the nipple on your intake and the valve cover.

You make it sound so easy, but I am soo n00b that I don't have any confidence that I can do this. I was wondering if anyone knew of a shop I could go to around Orange County, CA?
