Default Magnaflow Cat OBDII and CARB???

The guy at the local shop said that magnaflow doesn't make a universal catalytic converter that is OBD II and Carb Compliant (I'm in CA). Is that true?? I was checkin out the magnaflow website and their entire 43000 series seems to be both. Was the guy full of crap? This is the magnaflow website that has what I"m talking about: http://www.car-sound.com/catalog/universal/430.aspx

Maybe he was referring to my setup? I have a 98 civic hb with Megan header and Magnaflow exhaust. I don't have a cat right now because my cat was attached to my header....... The guy who mounted my exhaust and header didn't tell me that he was eliminating the catalytic converter; my fault-- should have done more research.

Now I'm obviously driving around with a CEL and the DIFFERENT shop is telling me that there is no catalytic converter that can be mounted that will be both OBD II as well as Carb compliant. Basically what I want is to be able to pass smog with my current setup and not have to change out my header during smog-time. I also want the CEL off. Oh ya... and my car sounds hella ricey.

Any help? Thanks a bunch.

I agree with you, that is what it says. I am tired of this CEL too. I was actually looking at the 54000 ones, I am not sure which one to get (see my other post).

I called Magnaflow today and they said that the OBDII and CARB compliant cat converters are only CARB compliant on some makes and models. You have to check to see if your make/model is compliant.

My 98 civic isn't Guess I gotta go back to stock header..... it sucks.
