Muffler size question
Hey. I have a 95 honda civic dx, yes the crappy engine indeed. I have a short ram intake right now, and stock exhaust. I heard that adding a muffler on stock piping wont really do much for the performance. Im not trying to get fancy with this car, not doing a cat back cause dont wont to put that much into this car. I've been looking around at some mufflers and wanted to know what you'll think about the size and brands. I heard that a good size is 2" for this car since it has only 102 hp, is that the inlet size and if so what should the outlet size be, does it matter.
Dc Sports: 2.5 inlet $139
specD Apexi N1: 4.5 outlet: 2.5 inlet: with silencer: $42
megan racing M-GT: 4.5 outlet: 2.5 inlet: $64
megan M-N1: 4.5 outlet: 2.5 inlet: silencer: $65
those are some of the ones I saw around on sites, having seen many 2" inlet mufflers.
Thanks.

RE: Muffler size question
outlet doesn't matter; intlet does... however, because you're not getting a catback, the inlet doesn't matter that much either. get any muffler you like, based on your liking of sound/looks. what they'll do for the install is cut off the old muffler, weld on the new one, with a short pipe "adapter" that bridges the 1.x" pipe to the 2" inlet of the muffler
