Default need a tip on installing this SRI

Well, I got me an AEM sri the other day, and I haven't had a chance to install it yet.

I am planning on doing it tomorrow.

I read all the directions and bs they sent along, but it looks kinda complicated.

From what I see its got 1 hose fitting (pcv) i am guessing, and 1 hole with a grommet included to shrink it down if needed.

I know what hose goes on the fitting, but what I don't get is what goes in the hole in the back of the hose.

I have the SOHC dx top mounted TB setup. Is there a sensor that mounts there, or is it for a hose of some sort?

Any info would be awesome, thanks!

A sensor should plug in one of the holes and there should be a metal tube that hooks up to it. Basically anything that is plugged into your air box tube, gets plugged into your short ram.

Here's my setup. I see obviously that the one hose from the pcv port there needs to go directly into the pipe, leaving me with one hole that looks like either a sensor or a grommet assisted hose mount. I have 2 grommets, and thats pretty much it, other then the mounting hardware. I can't see any sensors for this engine without taking the factory version off, which i guess I will get to tomorrow, maybe I will run up on one.

Just wanted to get complete clarification so I can do it quickly and not screw up, lol.

Also, this crap about draining the coolant, I am guessing is hype? I read another thread that stated not to do it, I can't see a reason to really, if there is, let me know.

you don't have to drain the coolant, and you'll find the sensor when you take the air box off. i have the same setup, all there is is the hose the goes from the pipe to the valve cover, and then a hole for the sensor. idk if this picture helps you or not, trust me, it's not that complicated, it's just an intake, not rocket science, nothing is going to blow up or anything, lol

Bah, who needs an intake? Just do what Chris Forsberg does in his Falken 350Z... no intake tube or filter, just straight up throttle body pimpin lol

seriously, it's not a hard install... maybe 30 minutes if you stop to have a snack lol

You already disconnected where that hose goes... see that hose/clamp you removed at the top left of your valve cover? That's where that nice silicone tube your intake came with goes... run that tube to the hole in your intake tube, and there ya go!

sounds good. I guess I will rip it apart later and see how deep the rabbit hole goes :-)

And now I can put those damn strut bars in I have been storing for about 4 months.

Thanks !

Yay, worked out pretty well. Sounds a little deeper from inside the car, more like I have an exhaust leak then anything, but I can always throw some sound dampener down on the floorboard and stop that.

Now all I need to do is clean the freaking engine bay. I bought some of that gunk stuff, but I am about half afraid to try it. Surely it won't get all the dirt out.

looks good, just polish the tube with some compound, then all you have to do to make the entire engine bay look clean, is clean the firewall mainly.
