Default New Header On 04 LX...

I tried the search on this one... failed.. so I have gathered that the cat is built into the header on my 04 lx... so how do you get a new header and pass emissions? Procivic.com has a high flow cat for like 90 bucks but where does it go if it is originally located in the header? Does a high flow cat make alot of noise? How much would a muffler shop charge me to do it? Thanks guys.

The main question is WHERE it all goes if the header and cat are now separated... how do you hook it all up?

Ok i don't have one but i'm pretty sure this is how it goes. ON the lx the cat is in the header, on the ex it's after the header. You will have to get a new header, then a new cat which attaches after the header like in the ex. This will extend past where your exhaust currently meets so you will either also have to get an aftermarket ex exhaust, or you will have to cut off some of the exhaust to make it match. Does that make sense? you are essentially making room for the cat by trimming the exhaust one or getting one that was made with room for the cat. Hope that helps

OKAY THANKS! So I am now wondering about the EX exhaust... I already have an aftermarket cat-back on my civ so that means it will have to go? To sum things up:

New Racing headers=aftermarket cat to fit=aftermarket exhaust kit that would fit on an EX...

Is this what I am up against? How much would all of this total (just in parts)? Thanks for your help!

Another one to throw out... in the event I turbo my car, is everything going to have to change? What about a k20 swap?

no you wont have to buy a whole new EX exhaust just have a muffler shop cut it to match the room the new cat is taking up.

I am looking right now on Procivic.com... do I need the header for EX or the LX? My car is the LX but the exhaust has to be EX, right? Confusion and delay...
