I'm kinda looking at this new car, but I hate how the exhaust sounds, and my guess is its one of the cheap ebay ones. My question was if I can take off the muffler and install a magnaflow muffler on instead, so it would sound better.Would this work, or do I need to buy the whole magnaflow exhaust system because the size piping is different?

it will probably be annoying to you still. i would just go the extra mile and get some good 2.25" piping on there, a good resonator, and a good magnaflow muffler. you should be pleased.

Your two options are to replace the entire exhaust system with a decent brand (recommended). You will notice performance improvements and it will sound great.

Second option is to buy a universal back box like pictured below. It will sound good (but not as good as a whole new system), and it will have to be welded on. Be aware of rust problems with this option though.

Yeah I was thinking of just getting a whole new exhaust because I dont like the idea of having ebay quality things that make a difference. Any idea how much a magnaflow full exhaust would be, because I really like how they sound.

i have csutom 2.25" piping with a 22" Magnaflow res and a sh*tty eBay muffler (think i'm gonna bump it up to a twin-loop soon, but w/e). Res was $65, muffler was like $40, piping was like $180 including labor, so close to $300 for a quality custom catback. Megan Drift Spec is a pretty cheap but good sounding pre-made catback exhaust, check that out.
