Default O2 sensor. The bung down below....

Well the header I got has the bung down by the cat and my stock one is up near the head. Surely someone else out there has had to deal with this? What to do, what to do? Lemme know before I start cutting and splicing.

A bung hole, a bung hole... my kingdom for a bunghole!

You should replace the 02 with a new one while you're at it, and sometimes the new ones will have the wires long enough. Also, some header companies will ship the header with an extension fot the 02. If neither, then cut and splice them......just make sure you solder the new connections so there is no chance of it coming loose in the future.

My DC headers came with the extension. Same set up as you described. You might want to call the company and find out if the extension is available.

Actually I had to replace the sensor because I couldn't get the old one out. That bugger was in there for good. Even with a o2 sensor socket and a 1/2" drive with a 3ft cheater bar, penetrating oil, and heat it wouldn't budge. In hindsight I probably should have brought it up to operating temp before I attempted to get it out as I hear that the metals cool at a different rate and makes them easier to break loose. Oh well, live and learn.

I bought the header used so I doubt there is a chance of DC sending me an extension.

You should always replace the 02 sensors anyways unless they're less than 2 years old.
