Im replacing the whole exhaust system on my 88 civic, also installing a new clutch.
after replacing the clutch and putting everything back together I couldnt Hardly move
my stick shift. looked under the car and saw that my new exaust was touching the shifter
i compared my new exhaust parts to my old ones and cant notice any differences.
i double checked the re-assembely of my stick shift but do to the lack of photos or help in
the chilton manual cannot see anything wrong. any advice or help would be awesome

Heat up the exhaust and bend it off of the shifter. I had to do the same thing.

from irish honda lover ,had this problem many times when you removed shift link did u take pin from box end or unbolt from shifter when you unbolt from shifter shift link remains on box giving a possibility to damage/bend it this has happened to 2 or 3 friends also each time we replaced shift link solving problem instantly
