Default preventing hydro lock???

i just converted from a sri to a cai and am kinda paranoid now about hydro lock. what is the best way to prevent this from happening? also would it happen over a period of time or does it happen in a split second and your engine is screwd?

don't drive in lakes, swimming pools, the ocean, a 4+ foot "puddle," your bathtub, a hottub, a waterfall, etc...

don't worry about it man. you're FINE.

go get a wet/dry shop vac, get a big bucket of water. do two different tests. first put the vaccuum tube opening half way on the surface of the water, watch, and you'll see nothing happen. then completely submerse it in the bucket, then watch it rise out of the bucket. now imagine it withyour motor that doesn't suck as much. unless you drive your car in a pond, it will not happen. first, it would have to penetrate the filter, and then climb a couple feet up the pipe, through the throttle body, through the manifold, and into the head. now do you really think a couple drops can do that, how about a handful of water? the answer is no.

really? i don't think there's that much "hype" about it. i know some dealerships will warn you about hydrolock, because they don't want you going in and messing around with the engine... but generally speaking, the people concerned with hydrolock are not educated entirely on it.
