if you don't want to have to reset your radio and all the other stuff that happens when you pull the battery... just unplug the ECU and "backup" fuse for 20-30 seconds..

no they have manifold absolute pressure sensors (MAP)

That sounds like a good idea. Where is the ECU and backup located. The fuses near the battery?
