I just got pulled over and i have an intake...and i guess the police is saying its illegal....so i got a fix it ticket...how they are saying that i have to smog my car over there....has this happen to anybody....?

Yeah i live in california....is it crazy that the police is wanting to smog my car....i thought i would just put the stock intake back on and show them...but they said they also want to smog my car.....is this crazy....or normal in california?

I dont think an intake will fail a smog test... as long as it is carb approved. Even if not I still dont see ahy it would fail.

 

my check engine light is on...i think the o2 is burnt

 

If i have an EX intake manifold in my Dx hatch.....it should still pass smog right....
and when replacing my intake back to stock....can i put a dx stock intake in there instead of a EX stock intake....thanks for the help...

 

How do you figure the O2 is burnt? Autozone will read the code for free, the code helps a whole lot when you got check engine.

 

Yeah, pull that code and tell us what it is.

I dont' think the stock intake will fit the Ex manifold. What kind of intake it on there now? You could just go and get a Carb approved filter and they might let it slide if it passes the sniffer. Sac and LEVIII would know more about this.
