Ok, let me first start off by saying I love cars in general, I dont own a civic, I own a focus. I have some questions about the civic and its engine. Alright, my one buddy is all about the civic and talks it up SOO much(the kids own civic dont even run, and never has since hes owned it... ) I just wanted to see First: what kind ofHP does a stock civic put down? and what kind of gains are made from intake, header, andexhaust?Not sure what engine he has, but hes got a bubble civic hatch... thats what he says the nickname of the bodystyle is if that helps.

 

Well....its kinda hard to say if you dont know what year or model the car is but if its 96-00, base hp can be anywhere from 103 to about 160 but if you say its a hatch...I'd say probably somewhere in the 120hp range, again thats based that its 6th gen. As for the I/H/E I would say maybe a 20 hp boost if you replace them all, someone correct me if I'm wrong?

 

hes claiming it will be into the 200's... Im just like WTF. It just seems impossible to get that kind of numbers from just that. And then i saw the catalitic* converter link in the I/H/E sticky and noticed that after a I/H/E the civic hatch yielded 152 tops w/o cat. Those numbers seem more realistic. maybe if the car had like 170 hp it could get into the 200 range, but anything else just seemed like wishful thinking. cams and valvetrain I told him wouldpossibly push it into that range.

 

He's lying unless it's one of the brand new ones. No civic has ever been able to get to the 200's with i/h/e other than the brand new ones. (excluding jdm models)
