Default Quick question~!

So tommarrow is the big day, im hitting up mexico for a stock ex exhaust manifold & cat. Only major concern after hearing from previous people saying
"its gonna pass smog" "its not gonna pass smog" "dont worry about it" "that WONT pass"
Im fed up with back to back talk, main question is..If i'm to get a EX exhaust manifold and EX cat then put it on my DX civic WILL i pass smog in CA?

Visual/Full inspection? I mean its stock right, no problem?

There shouldnt be any problem with putting on an ex EM and cat. But i really dont see a differance in the 2.

the difference is the dx/lx/hx all have the exhaust manifold/cat together as to the ex has it seperate

i say just get it legal to pass the test then worry about upgrades. get the dx factory exhaust to past the test then you can swap over to the ex, which all you have to do is swap em and down pipe, and the ex cat is a bolt on,

well 94chb, i agree on swapping the em/downpipe/ex cat but price on the dx factory em/cat is ranging 750$ in my area new. now if the ex em/downpipe/cat was cheaper my better bet is to go with it, right? its OEM i shouldn't run into problems you know?

well the prob is the ex mani and dp will bolt right up with no problems thats easy, but the cat you will have to get the exhaust cut and have it welded on. and they might also suggest a flex pipe.

I don't think it matters because... if you bring your 49-state Civic from another state to CA, live in CA now, and then go get that Civic smogged, it should pass all inspection.
