How loud is a cat back? And about how much horsepower on average will one produce?

if you dont really want to spend the money for the cat-back, a muffler will give you that sound and it will also get rid of some of the restriction of air that a normal muffler has..so its not just for sound

a muffler is nothing more than another resonator on the rear of ur car. If u want it to sound differnet just cut the muffler off. Im kidding. DONT CUT IT OFF........just buy a universal flowmaster 40 series or a universal magnaflow muffler.....have it welded on with some 2.5 inch piping from the catalic converter back. Ull be satisfied and u wont have a "rice rocket" sounding exhaust. If u are going to get JUST a muffler...........well i suggest u dont post about it.

I wanted to buy a muffler also orginally but then looked into and except for the sound and appearance, it really doesn't do anything. So I am saving for an exhaust system. You have more power, sound and appearance.
