Default Resonators

I have a cheap ebay resonator/ test pipe in place of my cat right now. It's not really raspy like you'd think. However, it is loud. I was thinking of buying a 12" resonator to be welded into my exhaust. What brands make some that are cheap, keep the exhaust tone really deep, but make it just a little quieter and that will fit corretly under a Civic. My car doesn't sound bad but I feel rice with it being that damn loud all the time. Do resonators help to make it even deeper or do they actually take away the deeper tones? Thanks

resonators help alot if you want a deeper tone. i just had one put on and it made my high pitch exhaust get deep and clean.
