Default To retune or not to retune?

Hey guys, been a lurker for a while, enjoy all the reads....................

I finally have a question that I couldnt find my answer in doing a search.

I have now picked up an older model civic, 1990 civic sedan (4 door)

Im looking to install a CAI as well a header and exhaust system...... with this older model will I have to retune the ECU, and if so how? heck this thing dosent even have a MAFS

Im only looking to gain MPG with this car, for its my commuter

thanks guys

retuning for better mpgs can be had, but you would want a tuning system (convert to OBD1, chipped ECU) and a wideband to see your AFRs. Unless you are extremely hardcore about this MPG stuff, I would not bother with tuning. It gets expensive, fast.
