Default SRI w/ hood scoop?

Anyone tried using a SRI (instead of a CAI for hydrolock safety) and incorporating a hood scoop - to force in cooler air over the top instead of from under the front end? I'd love to see some pics if anyone has done it!

As baller as the rims in the pic are, the intake is still just an intake. But sure, go right ahead and use it as an excuse to throw that uglyy hood on.

i dont think that would help anymore than a regular hood.
and plus it would get clogged up from sucking little children off the street into your intake.

lol

Just get a CAI that you can turn into a SRI and just switch from either one depending on the weather.?

Don't ruin your 8th gen Si with that garbage. Besides, it's just an intake... the tiny gains aren't worth having that god-awful hood scoop on the front of your car.

For the record, the concept of ram air really doesn't work on modern automotive applications. Yes, it gets colder air into the engine, but it'd have the same gains as a CAI at any given speed.

The only way that a "ram air" set up would look good on any civic really would be like a wrx scoop on the hood...a smaller one that is simple and that will look good. Performance wise it wont give u hardly anything more...its more of a style thing if anything. It wont look good on the 8th gen unless its done right...
