i was just wondering, today when i was under the car changing the oil, i noticed that the header is a 4-2-1 style with a point where you can unbolt it about where the 4 meets the 2. it is not stainless steel or ceramic though, and the stock heat shield is bolted to it. is it stock? anyone have any pics of it without the heat shield i can compare it too?

just wondering, as i don't want to order a new header only to find out my car already has one, especially if the one i already have ends up better. if it is stock, it's the best damn stock header i've seen in a long time, so props to honda if it is.

 

is the upper part cast iron?

 

no, the flange may be cast iron, but i'm pretty sure the tubing is steel. its all welded together in an "equal length" style.

 

well i dont think its stock then...cuz stock exhaust manifolds are cast iron...the upper part anyways....:-/

 

today i was looking at it some more, and there is a tab on the part where the two halves meet that has "GT 11" stamped in it.

i guess that pretty much seals it, i'm adding aftermarket header to my list of mods.

although, if anyone knows what brand of header, i would like to know that.
