supposed to smell?

Default supposed to smell?

hey guys, i just put my skunk2 mega power catback on my 00 ex today. is it normal for it to smell kinda like a burning smell?. when i was done, i made sure it wasent touching anything and what not, i was thinking maybe the oils and the gaskets setteling in?..i sure hope so...ehh

Yes, that is perfectly normal. The gaskets, when heated, will give off a burning odor for up to a week. Don't worry about it.

but also something to consider, did you install a new cat? and make sure to check for the exhaust hitting the rear bumper of course.

no, i dident install a new cat. i do have greddy sus headers. and, the muffler tip isent hitting the bumper..thank god. in the past few days the smell has gone down, i called procivic and they said it would stink for about a weekor 2 and maybe even smoke a little. seems to be doing just fine so far.

the reason it does that isbecause of the coating applied by the manufacturer, after it's heated and cooled a few times, the smell also goes away.
