Tell me how to install headers!!!
well i just picked up some megan headers today...and i know they are pretty much bolt on but i just wanted to make sure. cause some guy was mentioning something about a O2 something or other. and i don't want to mess it up. or....and i was wondering if they were legal or not....i'm going to put them on regardless.
Take the stock exhaust manifold off, remove the 02 sensor. Put the 02 sensor in the new exhaust manifold, bolt it back on but use a torque wrench. Tighten it to honda specs. Use the old gasket, dont get a new one.
start from the middle and work your way out... that will get you the best seal. The o2 sensor should "clip in" some where close to teh block.
install:
1. Just find the o2 sensor which is sticking out of the header (exhaust maniflod) and follow the wires to where it ends. Disconnect that from the clip.
2. Go under the car and disconnect the midpipe from the header
3. Disconnect the header from the block.
4. Remove the o2 sensor from the header.
5. Install o2 sensor in new header
6. Connect the new header to the block (tighten from inside out)
7. Connect midpipe to header
8. Reconnect o2 sensor harness back to the car.
is it legal? Probably not, unless its a DC Sports header. They always seem to have CARB legal headers. Most of your off brand and ebay headers are not CARB approved.
