Default Upgrading exhaust flow without a 'fartbox'

So, I'm planning on picking up an exhaust and header for my car, problem is, most exhausts I see that have decent performance benefits are designed to be noisy. I don't want my car like that, and I don't want to attract police attention either.

So, anyone know of any performance exhausts that will be similar to stock soundwise?

"Fartbox" sound is inversely proportional to price.

My Megan Racing cat-back is extremely quite, just leave the silencer in. It is good exhaust and not that expensive $325.

a silencer virtually defeats the purpose of the 2.5" piping.

megan racing is very good but not as quiet as the evo. cheaper tho.

magnaflows and megan racing sound essentially the same. ive heard a magnaflow on a 97 dx and a megan racing on a 00 ex (and of course on fortys 99 ex) and they sounded almost the exact same.

thats not true, i spent $28 on my ebay muffler and got custom 2.5" pipes and my car doesn't sound ricey at all... its a really deep grumbly noise.
